Background
South Platte Renew—the third-largest wastewater treatment plant in Colorado—has been recovering vital water resources in Englewood, Littleton, and the surrounding area for over 40 years. The facility’s Education and Outreach teams regularly provide tours to schoolchildren and members of the community but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, South Platte Renew has not been able to conduct on-site plant tours for the past several months.
Leadership at the wastewater treatment facility approached the Brand Viva with the idea to create a 10-minute virtual tour of their facility, which could be shared with elementary school teachers and incorporated into a remote learning curriculum. This new video would serve as an in-depth virtual tour and highlight careers in the industry.
My Role
I consulted with our contact South Platte Renew to write a script that explained the highly technical wastewater treatment process in a manner that could be easily understood by children in the sixth grade.
I served as a liaison between the Brand Viva and South Platte Renew teams during the preproduction process and ran point on day-of coordination and video production. A collaborative video editing process resulted in an attractive, polished final product that is both educational and entertaining.
